Diane HICKS

1933 - 2016

HICKS, Diane 82, passed away at her home in Tucson on November 20, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James E. Hicks; children, Jennifer Gillis, Katy Berger, Dan Hicks; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Diane was born in Harrisburg, IL in 1933. She grew up in Battle Creek, MI where she met her husband, Jim in the 9th grade. She then attended the University of Michigan where she was a Kappa Delta and Western Michigan University. With her degree in teaching she taught elementary school in MI. Married in 1954 she moved to Tucson in 1960 where Jim worked for Hughes Aircraft Co. As her kids grew up, she worked as a travel agent which led to her and Jim enjoying many trips throughout the world. They also traveled in a motorhome for two years while visiting family and friends across the country. She also enjoyed much of her time as a member of chapter DU of P.E.O where she forged lifelong friendships. But she was most devoted to her family spending time with those in Tucson, Colorado and Connecticut. Her family will forever be grateful for building those loving bonds that will last in our hearts forever. A Service for family and friends will be held at Casas Adobes Congregational Church in Tucson Friday, Decemeber 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
