Sharon, was informed today from Ray Battaglini about Duane. Have known him and Ray since arriving in San Leandro in 1954. He and Ray were my Best Men when I got married in Reno back in 63. Had lost contact with him over the year. My condolence to you and the Duane family.

Our hearts truly ache for Sharon and all of Duane's loved ones, and our prayers continue to go out for them during these most difficult times.
Duane was loved like the brother I never had. In his last days, what strength, courage, faith and dignity he exhibited.
Surely our Heavenly Father received him saying, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
With loving sympathy,
Terry and Nancy

Since reuniting with Duane and meeting and loving Sharon, Bob & I have shared and created lasting memories. Dear Friends,
We so appreciate your thoughtfulness and many kind words. My father will be remembered by all as a GREAT man. Let His Word be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. Psalm 119:105( Dad's favorite). His prayer was that all would come to know Christ so all could join him in Heaven to rejoice with the angels." This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!"
Bless you all, and may He comfort you in your loss as well.

I remember Duane when I lived in the Philippine Islands. He was a gentleman then and I am sure he lived his life the same way. I was lucky to have known him. Barbara Wiley

I met Duane while working at Bombardier Lear Jet in the mid 1990s. As soon as he found out that I was a Christian and a Golfer, we became friends. Duane’s love of golf was only surpassed by his contagious love of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have played countless rounds of golf with Duane during the 13 or so years that I have been playing golf. Duane was always up for a game. I will miss him as a friend and a Christian brother but I know and would gladly testify of his love if our lord. I am reminded of the chorus to a song that I heard in the 80s
So I’ll say that I’ll miss you in the places that we would go
Say that I wish that you could know
Say that I Despise the lie that says the last word is goodbye
And say that Jesus died to show
That love can only grow
So always say…………. Hello
I miss you buddy!

We really enjoyed visiting with both Duane and Sharon in Las Vegas last October. We were so glad he got to come to the reunion. It was good to really be able to sit down and get to know what has happened since high school as well as talk about our old high school days. Duane will really be missed by all his old high school friends, but we take comfort in the knowlege that he is no longer suffering and is with his Lord and Saviour.

What a joy it has been to be able to renew our friendship with Duane two years ago. He was Carmens high school class mate, class of 1959, at Clark Field, Philippines. We have been in close contact with him and Sharon since then and got to see them in Las Vegas at a mini reunion in October of 2010. Recently this past March, we traveled to Tucson and spent some quality time with him. It breaks our heart that he became sick and passed away. Duane was a true gentleman, very spiritual and someone that we were proud to say was our friend. We will miss him dearly. We send our love and condolences to Sharon and his entire family.

Dearest family of Duane,
I was one of the choosen few to work for Duane with Appearance Group, 6 years. Then later in my life's circle Duane called me again. I was happy he thought that much of me to return. Thank you Duane. I will miss your smile. Love to all of your family, Jamie and Brian Johnston.

I first met Duane in 1957 when we were in High School at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippine Islands (class of 1959, with about 21 members). After graduation, I next saw him and over a dozen classmates at the 51st class reunion at Las Vegas, NV in 2010 -- and also met Sharon, his wife. For me Duane will always be a friend to all and in the prime of his life. My wife Ellen and I extend our condolances to Duane's family and friends, and know that they can find comfort in their loving memories of him. Don McCann, Henderson, NV

Sharon, Ray, and family,

Duane was a wonderful person loved by so many. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace, and may you all find comfort in your loving memories and the love of family and friends.

Along with other classmates, I have wonderful memories of Duane, Ray, and their parents from our high school days in the Philippines. We were fortunate to reconnect with Duane and Ray a few years ago and get together at several reunions, meet their lovely wives, and reminisce - creating some new fond memories and strengthening our bond. For this, I will be eternally grateful.

Love,
Jean Whitman Brown and Gene
