Hello all, we had Mom Wood's Memorial service on November 20, 2007 on the deck of daughter Carol and son in law Richard's beautiful deck overlooking Lake Dexter in Lowell, Or. Pastor Neil Harris officiated over the service playing his hammer dulcemer, singing and playing his guitar. He read the lovely poem Carol had selected and read a short version of her life. He read some lovely passages from the bible and then opened the forum for friends to speak. Woody told stories of the old house, always open doors and lots of food including the indian visitors. Daughter Carol told of Ofie and the horse that came in the house to visit. I spoke of her great memory, wonderful smile and the fact that she could remember her first finger bowl at high school graduation. Many other friends and family spoke and funny stories were remembered. The following day, November 21, 2007 we went down to the dock and each of us had an envelope of her ashes that we dedicated to the lake. Daughter Carol, son Woody, myself, daughter in law, Nita her beloved grandaughter, great grandchildren Felicity and Jeremiah who loved her dearly and son in law Richard who was in charge of holding psycho dog Sadi. I love you Mom Wood and you will be missed greatly...Our great conversations on the porch and all the other great things we did. We will all see you again someday.

I was fortunate to have two great aunts on my father's side; Aunt Jean and Aunt Elizabeth. They were both very kind and understanding as well as very giving of their time. Aunt Elizabeth was the primary reason that Suzie and retired to AZ 10 years ago. Although we visited several times, we both wish it could have been more often. We will miss her warm smile and outstanding memory of the Richards' clan.

Aunt Libby - you were a very classy lady, and such a good friend and Mother to me after Mom passed away in 1995. I am so glad that I got to talk to you and visit with you when I came to Tucson. I will miss you very, very much. I will also miss our phone calls. I know that you and the family are finally together again, and in the best place you could ever be. I will always remember and love you with all my heart.

Libby was a very special friend and neighbor. She was always bright and cheery. She was a true "old fashion" lady. She touched my life in so many ways. She reminded me of my mother. I love Libby and will miss her. Deanna

Aunt Libby~ You are one of the most caring, compasionate persons we have ever met. You never complained, were the family historian, celebrated family events and shared many hours of love, joy and friendship with our families. You were a sister to my mother Marian, and a great inspiration to many. We are blessed to have had YOU in our lives.

Elizabeth was such a beautiful person - inside and out. I've always thought she was so very pretty. Always a lady, always kind, always fun to visit with. Christmas won't be the same without Elizabeth - even though I didn't get a chance to see her the last time she visited Carol, Dick and Nita - I knew it was "Christmas" just because Elizabeth was in town!

I am a better person because I knew Elizabeth; she blessed us by giving us Carol as part of our family. And she blessed us by becoming a part of our family. She will be missed.

Mom, to say I miss you is truly an understatement. I miss your voice and your smile. The last two weeks you were not able to talk to me but you and I communicated in our own way. Sometimes by the blink of your eyes or a wiggle of your foot. Whenever I left your room I would turn back and wave at you as I reached the end of the hall. Finally one day, as I turned back, your hand came up very slowly and you were able to wave back at me. I will never forget that final wave. My Bible says that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". So Mom, I guess you just got a head start on me and I know we will see each other again. All my love, Herb

I am going to miss my grandma so much. I'll miss the times when she spent every Christmas with us and playing cards with me. She was definetly the best Grandma anybody could have asked for. I'm just so grateful for the times that i did get to spend with her. And she will forever be in my heart. I'll miss you...

The best Mom in the whole world, you will be so missed, I will so miss picking up the phone and talking to you and spending every Christmas with you. You were always thinking of others and were so interested in your childrens and grandchildren's lives. I hope you are in peace and know how much I love you.
