Elodia Rosales Avila passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at her home in Tucson, AZ. Born October 14, 1933, in Litchfield Park, AZ, "Yaya" became high school valedictorian and later in life used her love of math to run her own income tax service. Ellie could often be found on the golf course and at the UA cheering for her Cats. She is survived by her children, Norma Carnaghi (Robert), Lydia Kimmens (Randy), Edward Avila and their father, Raul Avila; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, her brother, Ray Rosales (Lela) and cousin, Robert Rosales (Rosie). She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodrigo and Elodia Rosales and her cousin, Mercedes Campas. Mass will be held Friday, August 2, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church at 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of her life will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellie's honor to UA Athletics.
