Enrique O. "Wero" RAMIREZ

RAMIREZ, Enrique O. "Wero" passed away March 4, 2017. He was born April 10, 1932 to Cipriano G. and Victoria O. Ramirez in El Paso, Texas. At 19 years old, he was drafted to the United States Army serving in combat during the Korean War on the front lines. He worked as a Raise Miner Supervisor (underground) at Magma Copper Company/BHP in San Manuel, AZ, retiring in 1995 just one month shy of 40 years. He made miners of those working under his department (he taught them everything about mining). He was "tough but fair". His hobby was gunsmithing, a trade he learned from his father at the early age of 14. He was very meticulous in every project he undertook. He also subcontracted with The Outdoorsman in San Manuel for many years until his health began to decline in 2008. Wero had a very kind and loving heart. He is preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Nina Marie Ramirez. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Mark (Cheryl), Rick and Frank; daughters, Lisa Stengel, Henrietta Noriega and Victoria Dunn; stepchildren, Dora Magdaleno, Joanne (Cosme) Martinez, Bill Maya, Gabriel (Angelique) Maya and Marisa Maya and numerous grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Mammoth, AZ, Highway 77, beginning at 9:00 a.m., for Viewing. Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson, AZ. "Deep enough and well timbered."
