Esther Cady Davila born October 5, 1931 died March 24, 2013 at age 81. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joedy Davila; daughter, Cathy Martinez and grandson, Saul J. Gonzales. She is survived by her children, Joe (Debbie) Davila, Cynthia (Saul) Gonzales, Carlos Davila, Daniel Davila, Caroline (Bob) Kriesen, Bridget (Art) Castro and Mary Marcella Yturralde. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren, one brother, four sisters and numerous nephews and nieces who are all deeply loved. Esther retired from TUSD Food Services in 2002, where she had worked in the cafeterias of Manzo Elementary, Maxwell Middle and Cholla High schools. Where she was affectionately known as the "white haired lunch lady", she always enjoyed her job and interacting with the students and faculty. She taught us all unconditional love and was a loving friend to many people. She taught us through what she called "her kitchen soapbox/pulpit" where she spent most of her time cooking and bringing family and friends together. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on at all family functions. La Doña will be spending Easter nestled in God's warm embrace. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the UMC Cancer Center and Casa De la Luz Hospice for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to any Cancer charity. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. Augustine's Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Family and friends may express their condolences by visiting
