Francisco Jimenez Obituary

JIMENEZ, Francisco, born April 11, 1948 in Guyuma, Puerto Rico, passed away on January 24, 2010. Born to parents Benjamin Jimenez and Maria Santiago, whom he preceded in death along with his brother, Benjamin. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Jimenez of Tucson; sons, Benjamin of Ramah, NM, Steven of Tucson; daughter, Monica Jimenez of Tucson; stepmother, Esther Rodriguez of Salina, Puerto Rico; brothers, Carmelo of Halifax, MA, Joseph of Laurel, MD; sister, Stella Mejia of Orlando, FL and nine grandchildren. He served in the army from 1967-1970 with a tour in Vietnam as a paratrooper in the 173rd Airborne. He worked for the New Mexico Corrections Department Prison in Santa Fe, NM as a major for 22 years when he retired and moved to Tucson in 2001. He loved fishing, playing tennis and traveling with his family. Visitation will be held at East Lawn Palms Chapel, 5801 E. Grant Rd., on Monday, February 1, 2010 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service will be held at East Lawn Palms Chapel on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Committal Service will be held at Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista, AZ with Military Honors at 1:00 p.m.
