WITT, Frederick Carl, 90, died Monday, February 11, 2013. Mr. Witt was born April 22, 1922 in DeWitt, Michigan. He was the oldest son of Otto and Grace Witt. He attended school in rural DeWitt and later earned his GED certificate. He went into the Army in 1943 and served in New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan during World War II. He married Rosaline Damon March 8, 1946 and they spent 65 years together before her death in 2011. Their only child, Bob, was born March 19, 1947. They moved to Tucson in 1957 for Rosaline's health. Fred worked in construction all over Arizona eventually becoming a licensed general contractor. The family traveled extensively to visit family, friends and enjoy seeing wildlife. Fred is survived by his brother, Carl (Dorothy) of Dewitt, MI; his sister, Betty of Farwell, MI; son, Bob (Judy) of Scottsdale; three grandsons, Eric (Elizabeth) of Los Angeles, CA, Sean (Barbie) of Columbus, OH and Ryan (Nicole) of Chatham, Ontario, Canada; five great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held on March 2, 2013 at East Lawn Palms Mortuary at 11:00 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Disabled American Veterans.
