James L. Robinson, Jr. Jim, 74, passed on peacefully April 1, 2010. Born in Huntington, W VA, Tucson was his home since the age of 12. Preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and James L. Robinson, Sr., and his sister, Judith Parker. Jim is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sonie Robinson; daughters, Julie (Gary Sullivan) Robinson of Santa Barbara, Laurie (Emmanuel Fratianni) Robinson of Los Angeles, and M'liz (Cal Allendorfer) Robinson of Silver Spring, MD; and step children, Kelly Cronk, Seattle and James Mahlon Cronk, Tucson. A graduate of the University of Arizona and the U of A College of Law, he was a practicing attorney and was thrilled to be able to travel in December with his law partner, Daniel Rylander, and co-counsel Michael Meehan, to appear on behalf of his client before the U.S. Supreme Court. It was a gift that a week before his death the court released their decision, 9-0 in his client's favor. Jim loved his family, the ocean, sailing, studying the economy and markets, his dog, ice cream, cottonwood trees, his convertible, jazz, writing his novel, and helping people, especially the "little guy". He was active for 28 years in service work with others seeking to live sober. Jim had a larger-than-life presence and will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 203-229-0464. www.themmrf.org. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 9th, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Philip's Episcopal Church, River and Campbell.
