Jane B. Lis 97, formally of Utica, NY passed away in Tucson, AZ on May 3, 2013. Born in Utica, NY on January 1, 1916, the daughter of Stanley and Bertha Moczek-Dunajewski. On August 25, 1940, Jane married Bronislaus "Benny" Lis, in Holy Trinity Church. Two lovely children were later born, a son, Gerald and daughter, Francine. Jane's husband died on October 7, 1956. Jane was employed at the Utica State Hospital in the Psychiatric Center as a Mental Hygiene Therapy Aide. The love, compassion and outstanding work ethic earned Jane a Remotivation Pin in June 1961 from the American Mental Association. Jane was a member of the Civil Service Employee Association, the Sacred Heart and Rosary Societies. She sang in the church choir and enjoyed the organ music. Jane was proud of her Polish heritage and loved cooking and baking for all the holidays and special occasions and especially for her family. Her Funeral Services will be held at Kowalczyh Funeral Home on 1156 Lincoln Ave. Utica, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Trinity Church in Yorkville, NY. Jane's life was her family and she had many sincere friendships. A cherished sister, wife, mother, Babci and Cioci, with her "Me More" love attitude will be greatly missed. Jane is survived by a son, Gerald Lis (Anne), and a daughter, Francine Fritton (William); six grandchildren, David, Thomas, Debra (Garry), Eileen (Scott), Patrick and Scott (Megan); seven great-grandchildren, Danielle, Charlie, Amanda, Rebecca, Sullivan, Genevieve and Josiah; one great-great-grandchild, Oliver. She is survived by a sister, Helen Zawislan and many treasured nieces and nephews. A Mass Celebration will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd., Tucson, AZ. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ. Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, in Jane's memory, share your love and prayers with your own family and friends.
