Janice Robrock Obituary

ROBROCK, Janice Carlson, died peacefully at the Casa de Luz hospice on April 1, 2011 after a long illness. She was born December 3, 1945, in Ironwood, Michigan, the only child of George C. Carlson and Ann Payank. She grew up in Wyoming and graduated from the University of Wyoming and from the University of Arizona School of Librarianship. Janice liked to organize things and to help people, so library work was a natural field for her. She spent most of her professional life as a librarian with the Department of the Air Force and for the past 13 years worked at the Luke Air Force Base Library in Glendale, Arizona. She married David P. Robrock on May 13, 1972 (they met in the University of Wyoming library), and they spent 38 wonderful years together, living in different places and traveling frequently. They first came to Tucson in 1982. Though later employment took them to Las Vegas and Phoenix, they maintained a house in Tucson. They recently retired and came home. Janice enjoyed hiking, traveling, reading and collecting Southwestern art. With her wry sense of humor and generous nature, Janice made friends easily and will be missed by many. Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made in Janice's memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Arrangements by DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME.
