Jessy Andrews Obituary

Jessy P. Andrews went to heaven peacefully April 11, 2011. Born in Bisbee, Arizona in 1922, she graduated from Tucson High in 1940. Graduated from the University of Arizona, a letterwoman in 1944. Seeing the need for dieticians in the military she joined the Army November 1945. She served in the Phillipines, Okinawa and eventually transferred to San Antonio where she and her future husband William S. Andrews were commissioned captains on the same day. They were married in 1952 and she left the service in 1953 to start a family. Upon Bills death in 1969 she and her two kids, Cindy and Rocke moved back to Tucson. She was very active in service organizations and became Queen of Olana Temple, of the Daughters of the Nile. She and her mother Sylvia Powell traveled and served together on many groups. She is survived by sister, Meade Kelly; daughter, Cindy; son, Rocke and wife (Karen); their children, Lisa, Katie, and Bill, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jessy loved family, traveling. UA sports especially Homecoming and watching daughter Cindy play volleyball for the Wildcats, working out with Jeramy Price, San Diego, cooking and parties with her many friends, and time with Bill. A Celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Freedom Inn, 5660 N. Kolb Rd. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge. Chapel.
