John Destrini Sr.

DESTRINI, John, Sr., of Glendale, AZ. passed away peacefully with his family by his side February 8, 2011. Born June 21, 1940 in San Lucido, Cosenza Italy, he immigrated to the United States with his parents, Raffaele and Adelina Destrini (both deceased) and his two sisters, Alda and Linda March 11, 1947. He was raised in Erie, PA. He served in the Navy and then went to work in the automotive industry. He loved fishing, camping, bowling and playing golf but most of all he loved his family, friends and life. He was a great father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughters, Laura (Chris) and Teresa Destrini (who's mother is Letitia de la Gara); son, John Jr. and Andrea Destrini (who's mother is Anita E. Destrini - deceased); stepdaughter, Kathleen Speese; mother-in-law, Elsie M. Hobbs; his sisters, Alda Cupello, Linda Orlando, Rose Destrini and his brother, Ralph (Kristi) Destrini. He has 12 grandchildren, seven nephews and three nieces. He will be laid to rest Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at All Faiths Cemetaries, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes, Tucson, AZ, 85748, 520-885-9173. There will be a gathering afterwards for family and friends. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O.
