John changed my life. I loved all the times we worked together on his projects and in his class room. He made me realize that I could do more than I thought, and I did. I owe much of my future success to him. RIP Brother.

Well it's been SOME TIME now since John's passing and i continue to remeber him. I only knew him for a couple of years, but those couple of years have affected, and effected the rest of my life! I STILL apply the creative artistic perceptions that he taught us to my daily life. To me he was one of the most unique people i have ever met, and i have met a lot of people! (I'm 75) I missed him when he left UW at Plattville, and have missed him since. Whenever i sit down to play my guitars i continue to remember the songs we played back then. "Woke up this mornin', couldn't get on my mind". Well John, you're still on MINE!

Kathleen,
Colistia and I are thinking of you daily. Our love is with you every minute. John was an inspiration to me because of his forthrightness, good humor, and genuine interest in me. I didn't know him as long as Colistia, but every time I was with him/you was a joyous event. I remember our trip to Friday Harbor and John showing me how to tromp through the mud to collect those wonderful oysters, and then how to grill them so perfectly. Meeting in Seattle to share beer/wine in that sidewalk bistro. We are privileged and proud to have his art in our home Every memory I have of John is positive and will stay with me forever. Kathleen, I know your loss is indescribable, but know Colistia and I love you and are with you. We raise our glasses to John.

Kathleen,
I am so sorry to read of John's passing. I think of your office on Alvernon and Broadway with the pieces of John's art, and how when you brought something new in, you always took the time to show me. I send my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family.

John was my friend and teacher. He encouraged me to sculpt. Joe and I were very sad to receive this news. We send our deepest condolences to you Kathleen, words just aren't coming for me to express to you how we feel, know you are in our hearts and are in our prayers.
There are so, so many memories of all our times spent together they were some of my fondest days I ever spent at the art dept. and also socially with you and John.
We hope to share in the planned gathering this spring.
With Love to you and all your family,
