I accidently came upon this obit and was sent back 50 years. Kenny and I rode with the Horse and Fiddle Square Dance club in the late 50's, early 60's. We were the youngest on the team (I being a year younger than he was) and had the fun of doing the grand entry--he carrying the American flag and me the Arizona as we went full tilt around the rodeo grounds. We rode much together and I was as in love as a 10 and 11 year old can be. He took me to the movies once to see The Light in the Forest at the Fox theater downtown and I remember my dad driving me downtown where I believe his dad worked in a shoe dept of one of the big Tucson department stores. We would have held hands but he had a cast on his arm. He introduced me to pizza--something I had never seen and I thought it looked disgusting and still do not eat pizza. We snuck behind the mesquite tree at Mike Nugent's arena and he kissed me on the cheek. I have always had a special feeling for him. We moved into town in 8th grade and I had to sell my horse so lost touch with him but he was a good friend and a sweet guy even then. I have always remembered him with a smile and a sweetness as I think of the innocence of the time. Riding the Catalina foothills before the growth and clutter was my favorite childhood activity and remained so for years afterward as I found a job exercising other peoples horses. Kenny stayed in my heart forever.

I was so sorry to learn that Kenny had passed away. From elementary school through high school Kenny was a part of my life. He always seemed to be the voice of reason as Jim Neuman, Kenny and I participated in whatever hijinks we could find.

It is no wonder to me that he turned out to be such a fantastic father, brother and friend.

Thank you Kenny for all you did and stood for.

I was very shocked and saddened greatly to see that my friend Kenny Q. passed away. I knew him from operations and work with him as a fellow technician for 11 years in Procurement Engineering. He was a good friend and always welling to help. He was truly a most unforgettable character and I enjoyed listening to his stories. How he could work at Palo Verde, Go to School and work weekends to support his schooling is still beyond my wildest imagination. Only Kenny could do it! Rest in peace friend.

Ivy, I knew your parents before they were married, and after, and never has there been a more loving, romantic, forever, perfect for each other relationship than the one your parents shared. Kenny was eight years younger than I. I was always amazed at Kenny's determination in pursing his degrees at ASU. Even though he worked at Palo Verde, he also worked weekends at ASU and still had time to study. Kenny loved the desert and mountains. He loved to explore. I will miss our weekend telephone talks. I love you brother.

Gregarious, friendly to strangers, great taste in music (I met him before a Black Keys concert!), and just a plain nice guy.

I started at Palo Verde on the same crew as Ken as Auxiliary Operators. When he retired I sat right across from him. I enjoyed being around Kenny and he was a great guy. The world lost a wonderful man.

so nice to read the kind words, keep them coming. my dad was the kindest father. he was kind to all the other kids in my life too, especially those who didn't have a father around like me. he showed me and my mom endless amounts of unconditional love. he was always filled with joy and his world is a little dimmer without his shining spirit. he was always thinking of others and never missed a chance to help someone in need. i will miss his post cards signed with a little mickey mouse sketch. i am so grateful for our recent visit, he took me and mom to a winery and to the symphony. i hope he is at peace. he deserves it.

I worked with Kenny for 27 years at Palo Verde. He was always so helpful, friendly and loved to share his family because they were so important to him. I enjoyed his professionalism and his attention to detail because I knew when Kenny got thru with something it would not come back to haunt us. Blessings to him family and friends. RIP Kenny - I miss you!
