Lynn Day Obituary

Lynn Ellen Sands Day 4/9/1947 - 3/11/2011 After many wonderful years on earth, Lynn went to be with her Lord. Lynn enjoyed life, friends, family, personal sewing, sewn donations for others, and working many years at Bernina Sewing Center in Tucson. Preceded in death by younger brother, Paul Sands (Elaine). Lynn leaves behind beloved husband, Damon of 31 years; children, William Malmquist (Doris), Rebecca Malmquist New, Drew Day and Priscilla New; stepdaughter, Debra Day; granddaughter, Autumn; parents, George, Jr. and E. Frances Sands; siblings, G. Byron Sands III (Renée), Rebecca Walcutt (James), John Sands and Roger Sands (Alma). Thank you to those who helped with the two year battle against breast cancer. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Community Church located at the intersection of S. Pantano Rd. and Kenyon Dr. at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations will be very welcomed in the name of Lynn Day to the Academy for Cancer Wellness, 6616 E. Carondelet, Tucson, AZ 85710. This fine organization headed up by Dr. Alice Chang provides emotional support, equipment, and more, to her under-insured, and uninsured cancer patients. Lynn and her husband feel fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Chang for enlightenment and welcomed emotional support during the years of illness.
