M. Reece Obituary

M. Marie Reece was born in Dayton, OH on April 27, 1922, and went to join her husband, Harold, in heaven on May 2, 2011. She was the second of eight children born to Mary Ethel and Floyd French. She was close to her siblings, and she and her husband played a special role in the lives of the younger ones as they grew up. Harold preceded her in death in 1995. They had been married 56 years. She leaves behind her two children, Judy Stewart (Jim) and David Reece (Carol); six grandchildren, Mark Powell, Jeff Powell (Karen), Lainey Carlson (Steve), Julie Shaffer (Dan), Shelly Bunting (Wade IV) and Kristi Williams (Dustin) and seven great-grandchildren plus one on the way. Marie spent most of her life in Hamilton, OH. She was an amazing and active mother and was known for her delicious pies and her talents as a seamstress. One of her most elegant creations was a long gown with a matching cape made for her mother to wear to an opening night at the opera. After moving to Tucson, she and Harold were frequently found in one of the east-side bowling alleys, either practicing or playing on a league. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will be remembered with love. She will be memorialized by her family on Mother's Day. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.
