Madelyn Hardy Obituary

Madelyn Mary Hardy Madelyn was born in New York on June 9, 1921, and she passed away peacefully on January 25, 2011 at the age of 89, surrounded by family. Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Nanny-Dear Ann; sister, Evelyn and brothers, William and Jack. She joins her beloved husband of 51 years, Albert "Bud" Hardy. Madelyn devoted much of her life to caring for her three children, David Hardy, Dianne Hardy and Ann Charles (Rob), as well as her many grandchildren. She also volunteered at schools and St. Pius X, and all the children she cared for affectionately called her "Grandma". Madelyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will always remember her spirit and passion for life. She will be remembered for her love of purple, her witty remarks and most of all for her kindness and spirituality. Every day she told us, "Don't forget to say your prayers, and don't forget I love you," and indeed we will never forget. Aloha. Memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Saturday, January 29 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Villa Maria Chapel Foundation or Alliance for Children Everywhere. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE CREMATION AND BURIAL.

Reading that obituary of Madelyn brought tears to my eyes. I LOVE her daily saying "Don't forget to say your prayers and don't forget I love you." I'm not sure a person could be much more spiritual than that! :) You were all lucky to have her in your lives for so long. I'll be thinking of you all tomorrow and the days to come. God bless, Margaret-Ann Lippincott
