Margarita De La Ossa Obituary

Margarita De La Ossa passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 10, 2011. Margarita (Margie) was born in Nogales, Arizona on April 7, 1948. She grew up in Tucson and graduated from Rincon High School. She was a longtime employee of Pueblo High School as a school registrar and enjoyed the many students with whom she worked. She and Ricardo De La Ossa were married for 46 years and raised their three daughters, Melissa (Edward) Emerine, Raquel Armenta (who preceded her in death) and Cristina De La Ossa in their long time family home. She devoted her life to raising Raquel's children after their mothers' untimely death. She is also preceded in death by her father, Alfredo Quen Martinez. Margarita was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband and daughters, she is survived by her five grandchildren, Santos, Mariah and Rene Armenta, Lauren Emerine and Eduardo Flores Jr. She is also survived by her mother, Dolores Garcia Martinez and her siblings, Alfredo (Olga) Martinez, Jr., George Martinez, Isabel (Dennis) Duff and Patricia (Edward) Armenta. Margarita was ill for many years but in spite of her illnesses, enjoyed her family, socializing and travelling when she could. We are grateful that she passed peacefully and will miss her tremendously. Mass will be offered 9:00 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Burial to follow in Holy Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott with the Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Mrs. De La Ossa was one of the greatest women there at Pueblo who showed her students that we weren't just a number, but family. Prayers to everyone who is hurt by such a big loss. Her and Raquel will be watching over us.

I have many wonderful memories of working with Margarita at Pueblo High School. Her calm demeanor, not to mention her efficiency, made Pueblo High a safe, supportive and caring place to work and prepare students for life's challenges.

Tia,
I will never forget you and I will keep you in my prayers everday. I will always remember your beautiful smile, your gentleness and your kindness. You and Tio and the way you loved and cared for your family were always such an inspiration to me. May you rest in peace with our Saviour Lord Jesus Christ, until we meet again.

I will truly miss you ,you welcomed me into the family unconditionally .I'll cherish all our talks on the porch on those hot summer days ,and in the kitchen on those cold winter days about family ,friends, and cooking down in Lochiel AZ, you taught me so much I will never forget.

The newest angel has arrived in heaven and her family's memories will be shared with many. I was blessed to work with Margarita. Her commitment to her family, her friends and her work will be her legacy. She was wonderful.

I did not know Margarita. But her grandson, Santos, was my student aide at Pueblo High School when I worked there. Santos is a handsome young man with wonderful manners and way of being. With that being said, Mr. and Mrs. De La Ossa did a wonderful job. You are all in my prayers. May God Bless You All and Keep you Safe Always.

Ricardo, Melissa, and Cristina,
Margarita's beautiful smile and her kindness are two things that will always be remebered by our family. She was a good friend to Melina and me. We loved coming over to taste her cooking and visiting with you. We will miss her dearly.
