Milo VAN VORIS Obituary

VAN VORIS, Milo 83, passed peacefully on December 8, 2016. Milo, or "Van" as he was known by most, was born August 24, 1933, in Seattle, WA. As a young man, he traveled throughout Europe, as a trained concert Pianist. He received his formal training at the Ecoles d'Art Americaines de Fontainbleau in France. He then returned home and joined the Navy and served in the Korean War. He returned from the war, and met his "bride", Patti, at the University of Arizona. They were married on September 8, 1960, and raised two daughters. His prolific career spanned many industries, but was particularly concentrated in the Automobile industry, from which he retired from in 2014, finishing at Kia Motors. He was best known for his character depictions, fantastic creations, and handiwork with virtually any subject, medium, or tool. He was everyone's "go to guy" to fix, design, create, rescue or trouble shoot virtually any problem. He wouldn't rest until it was solved, often with a joke and a smile. His true talent was creating the most detailed, intricate, creative and unique works of art, many of which are still topics of conversations to this day. His smile, laugh, and infectious desire to solve problems have now passed, but will never be forgotten. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Patti; two daughters, Heidi (Mike) and Kristina (Dan) and two grandsons, Luke and Mitchel.

Milo, Varde, and I all attended Franklin High School together. I treasure the unique entry Milo made in my 1949 yearbook, complete with a drawing. What a truly great guy! I am now age 92 in this year 2023, and how I wish Milo and Varde were still around. However, my time on this planet must also come to an end not too far down this mysterious road of life. I wonder if I will see them again in a great beyond. Maybe. Maybe not. I am sure Milo could help me solve all kinds of problems!
