Norma Muñoz Obituary

Norma F. Muñoz 8/3/1947 - 4/21/2006 Mom, It's been a long hard five years. So much has happened in our family, deaths, births and marriage. Lauren and I now have two wonderful kids. Cora was born six weeks after you passed away. She's beautiful, has green eyes, smart and sassy. Little Andrew was born last July. He's a BIG bundle of joy with big blue eyes. Like Nana Lali alway said "Tiene ojos de catotas" I definitely would have been "de-throned" by these two. I still have your Focus parked in the yard. I also have ALL your clothes and ceramic stuff. It's still too hard for me to go through it. We took Cora to Disneyland a few weeks ago, she loved it, I wish you could have been there to see her expression and share her joy of seeing all the Disney characters. I hope you and Tia Lerney enjoy the times when the entire family gets together at you gravesite and spend the day with you two. I can hear you guys saying "pigs" to all of us for eating there. If only I could hear you say one more time "ANNNDDDYYY". Love you!!! Loving you forever and a day, Andy, Lauren, Cora and Lil Andy.

Norma,

Even though it's been five yrs since you passed away, my heart still aches every time I see Andy. You would be proud of him, he's a GOOD daddy. We don't get to see him much though, cause he's always working. Andy, Lauren and the kids spent Easter with us up in Mt.Lemon. We know you guys were with us too - a hummingbird kept flying around our area since Friday and on Easter Sunday, it came right down to the ramada with Tony and me,(everyone was still asleep) It was like the bird was saying "we're here too".Cora had a good time playing with the kids and going for a hike with Sonny and Monica. I keep thinking of how excited you would have been to be a grandma. You would have had Cora's arm full of gold bracelets and wearing diamond earrings, and Little Andy wearing boots and wranglers. Don't worry , Andy is doing fine, apart from missing you so much. We'll always be there for him, Lauren and the kids. Loving and missing you,
Elma

Five years ago today was also Good Friday. In Norma’s final days the doctors had already told Andy to give his Mom ANYTHING she wanted to eat...she wanted a hamburger from The Lucky Wishbone. Andy went to get the hamburger, came home and handed it to Norma. We watched her closely as she began to eat it while thinking this hamburger will probably be the last time she eats one and the sadness sets in. SUDDENLY, she grabbed her forehead and said, “Oh my God, its ham day!!” Sick as she was, she remembered about LENT!! You can imagine the moment ~ the sadness turned into laughter and we re-assured her that God would forgive her for eating meat on Good Friday. That memory will forever remain with me and once again when we’re sad, someone will always bring up “HAM DAY” and that eases the pain in my heart a bit. Norma, I see you in Cora’s facial expressions and Baby Andrew’s smile. Your beautiful picture remains in Andy’s living room and when I visit the family, I will point to your picture and ask Cora, “Who is this?” and she immediately says with great pride, “That’s my Nana Norma!!” You live on through Andy and your grandchildren; so you may be gone but definitely not forgotten. Missing you.

To Norma's family: It really does not seem like five years have passed. I think of her often.
Andy that was a beautiful tribute you wrote to your mom - who was beautiful both inside and out.

I will never forget when three of the Munoz sisters came over to my house and fixed tacos and how much fun we had and I will never forget the house on Meyers and how many wonderful times I shared with the family during Mr. & Mrs. Munoz's life time. I want you all to know that I love you all.
