Patricia Lindsay Obituary

Patricia Dale Lindsay died April 28, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona, after a brave battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). She was born in Thomasville, Georgia, April 27, 1948, and educated in Bethesda, Maryland, Sherborn, Massachusetts and Davis, California. She graduated from UC Davis with a BA in Anthropology and received the Masters of Public Health degree from UNC Chapel Hill. She was a Health Educator at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, Glendale Adventist Medical Center in Glendale, California, Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department and U of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Cowell Student Health Center, UC Davis, retiring as Assistant Director for Health Promotion in 2004. Then, after caring for her parents, Dale and Sybil Lindsay, she opened My Parents House, providing care for the elderly and disabled for five years in Davis, California, when her battle with ALS led to her move to Tucson to share a home with her eldest sister. She is survived by her sisters, Martha Cover (Dan) of Tucson, Judy Clapp (Bob) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two much loved foster sons, Sirak Aragaw and Tatek Kassaye of Davis, California and many nieces, nephews, grand's and great-grand's. We'll miss her unwavering support of human rights and dignity, her (sometimes unfinished) craft/art projects, her love for us (and her two dogs and three cats), and her never-quenched sense of humor. A Service will be held at St Andrews Presbyterian Church Thursday, June 9, 2011 in the NE campus in the Garden room at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements by DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME.
