Ray Desmond 85, passed away December 29, 2012. He was born February 27, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from St. Rita High School in 1944 and shortly after joined the Coast Guard and spent time overseas on the USS El Paso in the Pacific theater. Ray married Norma Jean Hickman in 1948 and enjoyed a wonderful marriage and raised four children, Lane (Joe) Campau, Larry, Raymond and Mary Ann (Steve) Chapman. Ray is survived by his sister, Marie Scaccia. He had six brothers, all deceased. While raising his family, he worked with his brothers at Dabco Tool & Die for about 40 years. Upon retiring, Ray and Norma moved to sunny Tucson in 1988, and enjoyed a very special retirement with family and many new friends. Ray was warm hearted, very considerate and fun loving. Always approachable, Ray was known for involving others and always wanting everyone to enjoy a good time. He'd like you to remember him by sharing a shot of Crown Royal with someone close and someone new. We'll miss you, Dad. We'll never forget you and all you stood for. Our love and prayers are with you always. Services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 3820 N. Sabino Canyon Rd. Reception immediately following at Viscount Suite Hotel, 4855 E Broadway. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.
