Ricky BROSCHAT Obituary

BROSCHAT, Ricky Jay passed into the arms of the Lord on June 11, 2017. Rick was born on June 12, 1956 in Valley City, North Dakota to James and Doris Broschat. He passed away among friends doing something that he loved. He lived in North Dakota until age 8, in Sitka, Alaska until 18. He attended college at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon where he graduated with a BS in Biology. Rick was first married in 1978 to Nancy Perta in Lake Oswego, Oregon. They had three beautiful children, Alex, Cary and Amie Broschat. Rick lived in Utah, Arizona, Alaska and finally moved back to Arizona. He worked in the mining industry as a health and safety engineer for many years, and has owned a document destruction business in Tucson for the past 15+ years. Rick loved his family and friends, the outdoors, fishing, beer, antiques, working on old cars, taking care of plants, his dogs, and any animal that needed care or a home. He enjoyed entertaining and having family and friends gathering at his home. He was an active member of Caballeros del Sol and Tucson Association of Executives. Rick was a committed and loyal son, brother, uncle and faithful friend, and a wonderful and devoted father. He was loved by his family and friends, and a father figure to many. Rick is preceded in death by his brother, Cary, and dad, James Broschat. He is lovingly remembered and will be missed by the love of his life, Ande Roberts, his children, Alex (33), Cary, (30) Amie (27), and his siblings, Perry (Melissa), Brad (Janine), Janae (Randy) Rodriguez, and nieces and nephews: Andrew (Elle) and Alexandra Broschat, Jonathan, Rebecca, and Elizabeth Broschat, and Kyle (Ashley), Nicole, Cody and Micah Rodriguez. Alex, Cary and Amie,
Words seem so inadequate to express the pain in one's heart at the loss of a parent at any age. May you find comfort from His words: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.Psalm 73:26

Alex, Cary and Amie- I treasure the fond memories with all of you when you were all little and enjoyed your dad so much. I am deeply heartbroken for all of you. It is so hard to lose a parent and my hope is you heal quickly with the memory of what you had and the love he had for you.

Amie, Cary, and Alex, I am so sorry for your loss. Ricky was always one that we could count on in the neighborhood for help. I will always remember how fit he was and how he loved the outdoors. Loved to hear his stories about Alaska. Michael, Matthew and I loved having you as neighbors and will miss your Dad. Kathi Dwyer

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
