This month Aug. 30, 2024, it will be ten years since my dear friend, Bob Witzeman died. We miss him so much. His friendship, his undying enthusiasm for the Earth, its land, air, water, plants, insects, wildlife, his passion, his activism, his encyclopedic knowledge. He was Arizona's outstanding environmentalist. From the first day I met Bob & his equally gifted wife Janet, I worked with Bob on water issues, Rio Salado Project, the Orme Dam which we stopped, www.oralhistoryoftheyavapai.com, and the Mt. Graham shameful telescopes. The public will never know how much Bob Witzeman did for their enjoyment of our natural world. Thank you, Bob!

I was very sad to hear about Bob's passing. He was a great and inspiring friend in conservation and birdwatching. The time spent with him will stay vividly in my memory.

I am aware of his work but never had the pleasure of actually meeting him. I am very sorry for you loss.

Bob was an environmentalist before most of the rest of us. His fervor and joy will live on I his achievements .

A great genealogist who helped me find my great great grandfather (his great uncle) and the ancestors beyond. For all the hours Bob spent helping me understand my family and heritage, I am eternally grateful. Bob, we will miss you.

Conservation can be grueling, lonely, discouraging, work, but with Bob involved you knew you were part of a team and there was somebody working harder than you. Bob was always there for me, and for hundreds of others involved in protection and conservation campaigns. The world is a little more dangerous without Bob on deck and ready to do what needs doing.
Truly awesome guy who is much missed.

God bless Bob for his work in defense of Arizona rivers and wildlife! He will be missed but not forgotten in the next Orme Dam Victory Days Parade!
