Robert Cameron "Cam" Balmain

Robert Cameron "Cam" Balmain 59, of St. Mary's, WV died April 5, 2011 after a long illness. He passed away peacefully in the home where he grew up, in the community in which he was raised; with his wife, Karen by his side. They had returned to St. Mary's about a year ago from Arizona where they had made their home for several years. Cam was born January 31, 1952 in Toronto, Canada, a son of the late William P. and Lorraine Scholes Balmain. He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Sharon Balmain of Topeka, KS; a daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and J.J. Rosas of Marana, AZ and three granddaughters, Isabella, Alyissa and Janyissa Rosas all of Marana, AZ. His family and his granddaughters were the loves of his life. He is also survived by a sister, Carrie Olson and two brothers, Peter and John Balmain all of Texas; a special nephew, Joshua Balmain and four nieces. Balmain was a 1969 graduate of St. Mary's High School where he was active in many clubs. He attended West Virginia University in Morgantown and enjoyed keeping up with the WVU football program through TV. He served three years in the United States Air force, in the 57th Compound Repair Unit (TAC). He retired after 26 years of service from Hughes Aircraft (later Raytheon Missile Systems), as an electronic warfare system engineer. No services are planned. At his request his body was donated to the Human Gift Registry at WVU, Morgantown, WV. LEAVITT FUNERAL HOME, Parkersburg is assisting the family with local arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Housecalls Hospice, Parkersburg, WV or to a charity of one's choice.
