Rose Marie GOODWIN

GOODWIN, Rose Marie loving Mother and best friend to all she met, passed away on September 10, 2017. Rose was 83 and is survived by her son, Troy Goodwin, two granddaughters, Hunter and Kayla, daughter-in-law, Tippi, nephew, Sean and wife, Mary and her miniature schnauzer, Dutchie. Rose had a love for life, people, animals and travel. Her grandparents emigrated from Austria where they homesteaded in Oklahoma. Born in Skiatook, Oklahoma in 1933, at age three, her parents took a giant leap of faith and moved to Riverside, California. At the end of her Junior Year in High School they moved to Tucson, AZ in 1950.  A graduate of the University of Arizona, she was president of her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta where she met her husband, Tom Goodwin. Most of her working career included Hughes Aircraft and her final position as assistant to the Dean of the Graduate College at the University of Arizona from which she retired. Rose loved traveling around the world. The week before her passing she was doing what she loved most, traveling with her son. That trip included Prague, Budapest and Austria where she visited the town in which her grandparents emigrated from. Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at the Mausoleum located in Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Rose Marie Goodwin's name to the Humane Society of Southern AZ.  You will be forever missed by everyone's heart you touched. RIP.
