Our beloved Stanley I. Jacobson formerly a Tucson resident, died March 2, 2013. As a mechanical engineer and senior scientist, in 1986 he retired from Hughes Missile Systems Company (now Raytheon). Stan's aerospace projects included missile designs and moon landing gear. Subsequently he moved to the Santa Fe, NM, area where he resided with his wife Esther Bustamante since Dec. 2000. Stanley leaves behind his daughters, Jody (Loren) Jacobson Wedret, Darryl (Robert) Jacobson-Barnes; and stepchildren, Ricardo (Lynda) Maldonado, Raul "Alecs" Maldonado (deceased), Renee Maldonado and Francisco Maldonado; his sister, Suzanne Block; and five grandchildren. Stan had a zest for adventure and a passion for life which was reflected in his many activities including sports-car racing, motorcycling, skiing and sea-doing. He was also involved in rodeo, boxing, martial arts and acting as an extra in more than 40 episodes of Young Riders and other films. His endless array of interests ranged from classical ballet to target shooting, gourmet cooking to politics. His grandchildren thought of him as "one bad ass" zeyda (grandpa). He was an active member of Chabad of Sante Fe and Chofetz Chayim in Tucson.
