I worked with Mr. Aguirre in the summer of 1973 on a land surveying crew for Blanton & Co. Architects and Engineers. I always enjoyed his stories - his outlook on life - his work ethic. He was very proud of his family's history and of his adventures. He was a strong and vibrant person then (then he was one year younger that I am today!) and I have thought of him many times through the years. His wonderful, strong spirit meant a lot to me then as now. I am saddened by his passing. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

we are so sorry for your loss. Mr aguirre owned the ranch where my grandfather, Atanacio Burruel, worked as a younger man. Mr aguirre also remembered my mom's(Adelaide Burruel) mother(Soila Margarita Vilducia), which very few people did as she died at a very young age, giving birth. we have a video recording of your dad. Its precious to us as it gave us insight to our great grandmother. From all the burruel family, we sincerely are saddened by your loss.

We were saddened to read about the death of Don Yginio Aguirre. He truly was a noble man, in his heart and his demeanor. I met him at a writers' award ceremony several years ago. I had also written an article wherein his handwriting was analyzed. He was such a great man, author and story teller. Good for him to have lived 101 years!
Our sincere condolences go to the families of Mr. Aguirre.
