SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS
What though the radiance
which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass,
of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

I was so surprised to see this notice for Steve. Working with him for many years at Mountain States was a great experience. He was a wonderful, considerate person and a great boss. I remember Marsha & I "conspired" on a couple of his birthdays and completely surprised him at the office - it wasn't easy! My thoughts are with you, Marsha, and the rest of the Munsell family.

Steve was such a great brother-in-law. As he would often say, "we were married to the lovely Galloway sisters." We had so many great times together, traveling all over the world and spending many family times witheach other. Usually on our trips the four of us would be walking in a city when we would turn to one another and ask, "where are the girls." Knowing they had gotten into their shopping mode and disappearing in a flash, Steve and I would make the best of the situation by finding a small cafe for an afternoon beer, or better yet an afternoon gelato. The girls would soon show up and join us in the fun. One of my last times with Steve was in Scottdale and the same situation arose. The girls went shopping and Steve and I fould the perfect spot the the afternnon gelato. I will miss all those wonderful moments with Steve, he was the bset. He will always be with me.

Marsha,
I recently learned of Steve's passing and my heart goes out to you. Please remember him often and smile when you do. He had one of the greatest smiles and you two were so good together. I will never forget our times at MC&R and all the laughter you brought into my life. You and your family are in my prayers. Peace and love.

Steve was an engineer's engineer, and then to top that off, he was the best of friends to all. We all were so lucky to know him, and now we'll miss him. Our prayers go to you and all the children.

Marsha,
My love & prayers are with you and your family at this time. I was one of many whose life was touched by Steve at MSME. Those days are long gone but my memories live on of a man with a quick sense of humor & a great smile. Steve was admired & respected by all who worked with him. I feel blessed to have known you both in my lifetime.

Steve - I am so sorry you are gone - the world is a poorer place without you. You were a great person and all who knew you will miss you terribly.
Marsha - I am so sorry for your loss. Words cannot express it adequately, but it sucks, for lack of a better phrase. You two were great together, and full of life as a couple, and everyone I knew, including me of course, was pulling for Steve to beat this. If anyone could have, it was him. I am sorry, and regret being unable to make it out to Tucson for the service.

Steve Munsell
Steve is the reason I’m in Tucson. He interviewed me for an engineering job 15 years ago. We liked each other. I wound up in Tucson—for which I’m grateful.
Steve was a good boss. He encouraged us to do things we didn’t know we could do.
He paid me a great compliment--“You’re my kind of engineer.”

Dear Marsha,
I am so sorry to learn of Steve's passing. Although we haven't been in touch for years, I always remember the great times we had working in the Bursar's Office at the U of A back in 1980-81. I only met Steve once or twice, but I remember what a nice man he was, and what a great match he was for you. I know all too well what a difficult time this is, but when you are feeling up to it, I hope you will contact me via e-mail. You and your family are in my prayers.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Marsha and all of the Munsell clan. Take comfort in knowing that Steve loved you all very much and would light-up when talking of you. Always positive and forward looking, he was the best boss, teacher, mentor, and most of all friend. Steve was a genuine gentleman and the impact he had on the careers and lives of so many like myself will live on. I was lucky to have shared time on this earth with Steve and he will be missed.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself … any man’s death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
