He saw, and participated in, a period of sweeping change that defined the 20th century—often referred to as the Greatest Generation. Phil was a WWII veteran, having enlisted in the Army Air Corps, and served in the Pacific during 1944-45. He was a 1949 graduate of Drury University, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, and later earned his MBA from St. Louis University in 1958. He was involved in the planning of many projects with the Missouri Highway Department during expansion of the state highway system that took place during the 1950's, which ultimately led to his sales career in the concrete floor industry. He is survived by his wife, Betty Boyson Hoff; daughters, Gayle Cunningham Hoff and Katherine Milne (Ronald) Weinreb; grandchildren, Steven Ellis Weinreb and Laura Jessica Weinreb, all of Tucson. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Patricia Ritenour of Denver, CO, along with his nieces and nephews. He was stepfather to John (Marla) Davis and James (Karen Howard) Davis; "Grandpa Phil" to Lynda (Kevin) Jackson, Rachelle (Ashley) Smith and Jonathan Davis, as well as six step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and younger sister, Shirley Anne Hendricks. At his request, there will be no services. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Tucson, AZ.
