Joan Claire (Meidel) Jagodzinski Born November 15, 1933, in Anniwa, Shawano County, Wisconsin, to Ernest and Annie (Hanne) Meidel, passed away February 16, 2014 in Tucson, Arizona. Joan moved to Harvard, Illinois in 1951 and was employed by the Illinois Bell Telephone Company as an operator. There, she met and married the love of her life, Norbert "Tony" Jagodzinski, April 11, 1952. Joan retired from the McHenry County, Illinois; Assessor's Office after 22 years of service and moved with her husband to Tucson, Arizona in 1991. Joan loved to give her time to many worthy causes, doing volunteer work with various theaters, St. Mary's Hospital, Tucson, the Salvation Army, Tucson, PGA and LPGA tournaments, the Jerry Lewis Telethon, and the Tucson Estates paper. Joan was also active with the Pima County Board of Elections as a Judge. She was a member of Red Hat Society, Illinois and Wisconsin Clubs of Tucson Estates; and she also was an avid world traveler. She is survived by her two sons, Denis (Jill) Jagodzinski and Steve (Deborah) Jagodzinski; three grandchildren, Joe (Marzi) Viverette, Jessica and David Jagodzinski; one great-grandchild, Madeline Elizabeth; sisters-in-law, Patricia (Bill) Gibson and Delores (Patrick) Slowey and 13 nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Gladys; husband, sister-in-law, Virginia (Arnold) Gerhke; two brothers-in-law, Larry Jagodzinski and David Jagodzinski and one nephew. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at The Tucson Estates Club House, 5900 W. Western Way Cir. Family and friends may express their condolences at
