Loretta Mae Ross was called by God to be forever with Him on April 25, 2014. Surrounded by her loved ones, she died peacefully. She was 80 years old, and was preceded in death by her father and mother, Floyd and Wilma Weil and her older brother, Floyd Weil, Jr. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 62 years, Richard William Ross; her younger brother, Lester (Peg) Weil; her two sons, Stephen (Ann) and David (Terry) Ross; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Rylski, Chris (Bobbie Joe) Ross, Ben (Jodi) Ross, Shannon Ross, Joshua (Julie) Brown, Patrice Brown, Chad (Kendall) Brown, Justin Salgado and Shelly (Adam) Corrough and 11 great-grandchildren, Luke, Taylor, Henry, Kaycee, Fallon (Ross), Ethan (Brown), Ariel, Angelina (Salgado), Colton, Hunter (Corrough) and Jake Smith. Loretta Ross was a coal-miner's daughter, born on a farm in Armstrong Mills, Ohio. Her family moved to Tucson in the 1940's, and she attended Wakefield Junior High and graduated from Tucson High School. She began singing on the radio at the age of four, and she sang in church choirs her entire life. Loretta worked as a Nurse's Aide in San Manuel Hospital, and for many years on the nightshift as a Registered Nurse-Certified at St. Mary's Hospital. Loretta spent her entire life working with children and assisting the sick and dying - in church, at work and at home. Loretta had a warm sense of humor, and she demonstrated a deep compassion for her family, her patients, for babies and all kinds of animals. Loretta's precious smile and her devotion to prayer will be greatly missed; she was deeply loved and cherished. Loretta's Memorial Service will be a private time of gathering with family and friends.
