MASLAND, Elizabeth Barnes, 52 years old, died June 26, 2014, in Tucson, where she lived for almost 45 years. Born in Philadelphia, she moved to Tucson, and enjoyed riding her horse, playing the piano, ceramics and walking outdoors. Known as Betsy, she was loved, cherished, and survived by her family: parents, Nancy and William S. Masland; sister, Ellie M. Wolcott of Omaha; nieces, and brother-in-law, Dr. Peter Wolcott; cousins, aunts and uncles. Family and pets were her greatest joys. She had many friends from Green Fields School, and the House of Heart, where she became a Sister of the Heart. She met life's challenges of mental illness with spiritual courage, sense of humor and tenacity, and we all benefitted from her many contributions. We find comfort in knowing that she has found peace at last. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014 at St. Francis in the Foothills, 4625 E. River Rd., 85718. Instead of flowers, donations may be sent to St Francis or Green Fields School, 6000 N. Camino De la Tierra, Tucson 85704. All are invited for a light lunch. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE HEATHER MORTUARY.
