Marjorie Chapman Obituary

CHAPMAN, Marjorie Eleanor, 91, born December 31, 1917 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Clive and Eva Shield, died May 7, 2009 in Tucson. Her family moved to Tucson in 1923. Marjorie retired from TUSD in 1980 after 23 years. She was an active volunteer at The Assistance League of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Chapman and son, Richard William Chapman, brothers, Holt and Edgar Shields and sister, Zelda Snyder. Survived by daughter, Judy Roemmelt; grandchildren, Brian (Erin) Chapman and Susan Morris; great-grandchildren, Jack and Catalina Chapman; sister-in-law, Elaine Shields; nephews, Rod (Kathy) Shields, Robert, Willard and Fred (Betty) Snyder; and niece, Frances Rishell. A special thank you to the staff at Heaven Can Wait Assisted Living for all their love and wonderful care. Graveside Service Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery. Judy, I was so saddened to read of your Mother's death. I knew Marge through Assistance League Craft Auxiliary. We worked on many projects together. She was a lovely person. My sympathy and prayers to you and all the family.
