Carl D. Macpherson on September 3, 2009, at 1:10 p.m., Carl D. Macpherson, Jr., born October, 1918, joined his wife of 62 years, Jane Macpherson, in everlasting life. He was born and raised in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, attended the University of Michigan for three years and graduated from Loayne State University, with a degree in chemical and metallurgical engineering. He was a long time member of Indian River Golf Club and Tucson Country Club until 1973 when he was no longer physically able to participate. He did, however, have, in June 1977, the thrill of celebrating his 78th birthday, at Tucson Country Club by shooting a 77! He was a father, inventor, friend and sailor extraordinarie. He is survived by his brother, John Macpherson of Parumph, Nevada; his son, Carl D. Macpherson, III and daughter-in-law, Marcia of Tucson; three grandchildren, Heather Macpherson Lopez and Patrick Lopez of Tucson, Carl D. Macpherson, IV and Catherine of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Jeanne Benjamin and Greg of Harbor Springs, Michigan. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Marcia and Marina Lopez of Tucson, Carl V. and Isabel Macpherson of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Cal Benjamin of Harbor Springs. He enriched the lives of everyone that he had contact with and will certainly be missed by all that knew him. The family is planning a Memorial Service for him in Topinabee, Michigan the summer of 2010, a date to be announced in the future.
