Geraldine Baker Becker Oliver Masters "Dody" died January 13, 2010 after a valiant struggle during the last several years with advanced Parkinson's and other health issues. Dody, born in Buffalo, NY, December 19, 1917, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis F. Baker. She moved to Tucson in the late 1960s with her second husband, William Oliver. Bill passed away in 1990. Subsequently, Dody married Dr. William H. Masters who died in 2001. She attended schools in Buffalo, Old Fields-Greenwood School in Maryland and Stephens College in Missouri. Dody studied painting in the Adirondack Mountains, NY where there was a family summer residence, and in Tucson. Her paintings have been displayed in both areas. Dody was on the board of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. She spent over 20 years volunteering at TMC. She was also on the Junior Boards of the Buffalo Genera Hospital and Maria Love Foundation. Dody was a member of the Altar Guild of St. Johns Grace Episcopal Church in Buffalo before becoming Presbyterian. She was a long-time member of Skyline County Club in Tucson, AZ. We remember Dody as a joyful, warm, affectionate and generous person. She was beloved by all - beautiful inside and out. She is survived by daughters, Judith Becker-Cavallon, Niscah B. Koessler; son, David F. Becker and was predeceased by her son, Stephen C. Becker in May, 2009. There are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on March 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. Any memorials may be made to St. Andrews, Tucson Medical Center's Auxiliary or the charity of your choice.
