Gladys Bull Klingenberg 1914 - 2010 Gladys was born August 2, 1914 in Midland Arkansas. She was the elder daughter of James B. and Lee Ethel Bull. Gladys first moved to Arizona with her family in 1926. She married Paul Klingenberg in 1934 at the First Baptist Church in Tucson. She was a graduate of Tucson High School. They both were active supporters of the University of Arizona. In her early years, Gladys enjoyed being cashier at the family's grocery store in Tucson. This was before her father owned and operated Bull Farms, located two miles north of Continental, AZ, from 1931 to 1969. In her recently completed memoirs, My Life Story, Gladys tells about living on the farm, and the time it was the site for a German Prison camp during WWII. The production of the classic film, The Westerner, was located on Bull Farms. The old farm property is now the well-known retirement community, Quail Creek. Gladys and Paul lived on Bull Farms for 20 years, before building a home in Green Valley and living there for 35 years, from 1970 to 2005. Gladys was first a wife and mother. She also enjoyed being a local historian, often being asked to give press interviews about the area's history. Gladys resided at La Posada in Green Valley for her last several years. She died at age 96 on November 19, 2010. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years and her only sibling, Margaret Bull Epps. Survivors include son, John Klingenberg (Mary Jean) of Roll, AZ; son, Dan Klingenberg of Scottsdale, AZ and daughter, Jeanne Herrman (Tom) of Burbank, CA. Also surviving are three grandsons, Jeff Klingenberg (Brandy) of Tifton, GA, Doug Klingenber (Ingrid) of Tempe, AZ, Bryant Herrman (Liz) of Los Angeles, CA and eight great-grandchildren.
