Billie Mae Steadman passed away January 12, 2012, Billie was born in Los Angeles, California on March 19, 1931, the second daughter of John and Elizabeth Meals. She passed serenely at home in the loving arms of her devoted family. Billie Mae Steadman was preceded in passing by her parents, sister, Mary Lou Boss and husband of 55 years, William Steadman. She is survived by her two daughters, Melody Cavell and Joy Nunez; 12 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Billie Mae Steadman moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1947 where she worked side by side with her husband, raising a family and devoting her life to family, friends and community. Expressing your love for others was a gift from her wonderful parents that she shared with everyone she knew. For those of us fortunate enough to share her path, a legacy of love, compassion and unending charity will help guide us through the rest of the journey without her. She will certainly glance back at the blessed few who got to call her mother and grandmother and continue to embrace us, and look forward at the waiting arms of so many loved ones waiting to embrace her again. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of University Medical Center and Odyssey Hospice for extraordinary compassionate care they provided Billie Mae Steadman and her family. Their amazing care allowed her family to bring her home and embrace her till the end. Interment is on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 12:30 p.m., at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave. Arrangements by FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN.
