Bob was a proud Veteran of the US Navy where he served from 1947-1955 upon the USS John R. Pierce during the Korean War. He loved sharing stories of his time traveling the world. Bob married the love of his life Elaine in 1955. They then welcomed their only child Jo. Bob was a very hard working and thoughtful man. Always volunteering and helping others. In 1963 he and his father, Clarence, opened "The Carom Room" an upscale billiard room in Beloit, WI, boasting famous players such as Willie Muskonie. He encouraged women to play, had ladies leagues and taught his daughter to play in many exhibitions, even opposing Minnesota Fats! He sold out in 1966 and relocated to Rochester, MN where he went to work for K-Mart Corp. and started raising appaloosa horses. By 1974, Bob and Elaine decided they had enough of the MN winters and moved to Tucson where he eventually retired from K-Mart in 1991. After Elaines's death in 1992, Bob moved to Tucson Estates where he opened his own golf club making business. He was known for driving his "57" Chevy golf cart around the park with his dog "Chico" by his side. He had requested his memorial service be delayed, do to his many out of state friends. A Celebration of his life, will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at Tucson Estates Multi Purpose Room at 4:30 p.m. A reception to immediately follow. Arrangements by ABBEY FUNERAL HOME.
