Joe Agers passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 after a long illness. Joe was born in Williamson County, Illinois. He attended SIU in Carbondale, Illinois before joining the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nell Agers and is survived by Jacqueline Agers, his loving wife of 40 years. He also leaves behind his six children, Robin Agers, Kelly (Kathy) Agers, Shawn (David) Thompson, Kelly Feldman, Ron (Loren) Borane and Rick (Marisa) Borane; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are his sister, Gloria (Byron) Glaser and his brothers, Jim Agers, John (Sybil) Agers and Tom (Dee) Agers. Joe was a long time builder in Tucson and a member of SAHBA. Joe served on the Advisory Board of Angel Charity for Children and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Joe was an avid fisherman and a Wildcat enthusiast. He will be remembered for his easygoing manner, integrity and humility. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Joe's name be made to the University of Arizona College of Medicine Parkinson's research team. Checks are made out to UAF- Parkinson's Research Team and mailed to Melissa McGee, c/o UA College of Medicine, P.O. Box 245018, Tucson, Arizona 85724. A Rosary will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church located at 5150 N. Valley View Rd., on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass following at 12:00 noon. Interment will immediately follow at the East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road. Arrangements by GREEN VALLEY MORTUARY.
