Augustin R. Burruel 97, a US Army WWII Veteran, born November 18, 1915, passed away February 19, 2013. Preceded in death by his wife, Manuela "Nellie"; sister, Amalia Valles; sister-in-law, Francis Obregon and brother-in-law, Edwardo Altamirano. Survived by daughter, Gloria B. (Leo "Polo") Jacobs; sister, Virginia Tellez; brothers, Jesus (Mercy) Burruel, Fernando (Cecelia) Burruel. Augustin was blessed with three step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thanks to family and friends for their support, to Handmaker and Casa de la Luz Hospice for extending my father's life. Dad you are my hero, thank you for the happy moments we had with you and mom, you both were a blessing to us. We will miss you very much. May the good Lord bless you and Mom. Visitation 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2013 at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone. Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. with a burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
