Robert Louis "Bob" Ballard our kind, gentle, generous, loving, brother, passed away on April 13, 2013, in Tucson, AZ. Bob survived many health issues in his life but injuries incurred when he was tragically run over by a car on his way home from lunch on April 4, 2013 proved to be too much. Born November 9, 1951 in Newfoundland, Canada, Bob (or Rob as his family him), graduated from Sahuaro High School and enjoyed a long career with the State of Arizona ATPT. After retiring he became a volunteer at the ARC of Tucson. Our family will always be thankful to his co-workers at ATPT and ARC who befriended him. Bob enjoyed playing Bingo weekly at the DAV. He had many friends there who took great care of him, and celebrated his many Bingo wins. He was a member of the Phil Schlesinger Civitan Club where he also enjoyed the fellowship of friends and had many fun times. During his lifetime, he was cared for by some of the kindest physicians in Tucson. Our family appreciates all of their support over the years. Thank you to the staff at the UofA Trauma Center for their compassionate care. He enjoyed the friendship of his neighbors, Dana, Marilyn, Marylou and Vic who will miss him. Preceded in death by father, Robert; mother, Marie; uncles, Len, Bert, Gerald, (Walsh) and aunt, Lorraine and uncle, Ed (Schmipf). Survived by brother, Russell of Houston; sisters, Barbara of Tucson, Leslie of Seattle; niece, Skylar Marie of Houston; aunts, Dolores, Adelia and Iris (Walsh) of Newfoundland, Canada and many cousins. Visitation to be Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 1335 S. Swan Rd.
