J.D. Braswell 7/20/1921 – 8/25/2013 In the early morning hours of August 25, 2013, "Braz" passed away peacefully with his family around him. The long time resident of Sonoita, AZ was born in Lamesa, TX, to J.D. Sr. and Collye Mary Braswell. He attended Texas Tech, was a WWII Army Veteran, and an automotive service manager, business owner, auto and boat racer (a member of the Arizona Drag Racing Hall of Fame), and patriotic gun owner. He also enjoyed gardening, traveling, golf, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ann; brother, Billy Sharon; three children, John David, Kerry Lynn and Marleigh Jo (Lee); four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., at the Elgin School, 23 Elgin Road, Elgin, AZ 85611. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Sonoita Hills Community Church, P.O. Box 98, Sonoita, AZ 85637.
