I worked for Merle for 7 years back in the late 70's/early 80's. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. He was one of the best men I ever knew. He was kind, generous, giving and a blessing to all that knew him. His son Stuart was a good friend of mine too. My heart goes out to all of his family.
I will never forget Merle...he made a huge impact in my life.

Merle was a friend to me, and to all of the Sheriff's deputies, on Mt Lemmon in the early 80's. He lent me the use of a very nice fishing boat in San Carlos, MX to celebrate my grandfather's 76th birthday. My grandfather considered it one of the best days of his life until he passed. Thanks Merle. You were are very honest and generous guy and I have never forgotten your kindness. Jack S.

To my ex neighbor of over 11 years, you will be missed. I often think of you. Sorry I missed you during the holidays, but glad you were able to enjoy your favorite cookies I left for you.

As we used to joke, you were my best neighbor ever and I was yours.
