Wallace Fuller Obituary

Wallace H. Fuller, Ph.D. Born April 15, 1915 in Old Hamilton, Alaska, to parents Henry and Bessie Fuller, passed away on August 21, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Winifred Elizabeth Fuller; daughter, Pamela Elizabeth Haines and two brothers, Lawrence and Henry Fuller. Attended public school in North Bend, Washington, then continued his education at Washington State College where he earned his Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees. He then received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University. In 1948 Wallace came to the University of Arizona as a Soil Scientist then becoming a full professor. Besides writing many scientific books and articles, he became interested in poetry, which resulted in his authoring many fine poems. His interest in track and field also resulted in his becoming a Pac 10 referee for a number of years. His spare time was spent in the garden. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

Dr Fuller was an outstanding soil scientist, teacher, and friend. I was privileged to have been among the many students who knew him as an excellent mentor and a sincere friend. Blessings to the family.
