William J. Augello, Esq. Born in Brooklyn, NY, April 5, 1926, peacefully ended his battle with cancer at home with his family on November 19, 2006. Bill is survived by Betty, his wife of 56 years; their children Tom, Pat (husband Tom), Chip (wife Cheryl), Billy, Peg (husband Norman), Jamie; and grandchildren Casey, Ryan, Nathan and Travis. Bill was Lieutenant j.g. in the U.S. Navy, and alumnus of Dartmouth College and Fordham University. An icon of the transportation industry, Bill was the senior member of his law practice of 50 years, and Executive Director of the Transportation Consumer Protection Council, Inc. Among his many professional achievements was a successful argument before the U.S. Supreme Court. Bill was an Adjunct Professor of the University of Arizona, teaching Transportation Law, and author of over a dozen text books. A passionate pianist, Bill could often be found entertaining in the local Tucson area hotels. His keen sense of humor and quick wit will sorely be missed. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 8650 N. Shannon Rd. Friends may visit with the family at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, AVALON CHAPEL , 8090 N. Northern Ave., on Monday, November 20, 2006 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. A scholarship fund has been established in his name.
