Landon Russell "Lanny" Graves(1938 - 2017)

Landon Russell Graves, 79, passed Thursday, December 28, 2017. He lived in Brea, Ca.
Landon was born March 14, 1938 in Bakersfield, VT. He grew up on the family farm and was a graduate of Brigham Academy, class of 1956. In May of 1959 he married Denise Martell of Enosburg Falls, VT. Together they had four children Anne Marie, Kirk, Zane and Ross. In 1988, Landon married Salley Mann and with her raised her two children Summer and Josh Mann.
He served in the Vermont Army National Guard, and also worked several other jobs driving cattle truck, lumberjack, plowing snow and eventually worked for IBM where he remained until he retired after 30 years in Tucson, Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucille Graves, first wife Denise Karpachevwicz , Brother Roger Graves, Sister Colleen Hodson and son Zane Graves. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Salley Mann, sister Virginia Olson & (Fred DeWitt), children Anne Marie & (Reggie) Doughty, Ross & (Carol) Graves, Kirk & (Tammy) Graves, Summer Mann & (Alan) & Josh Mann, ten grand children, two great grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews, and a host of other family & friends.
Landon was kind, patient, hard working. Some of his favorite things to do were play cribbage, watch the AZ Wildcats & Westerns, drive his truck cross country and relax in his backyard in Tucson. A generous man not just with money but with his heart & time as well. Landon also known to many as (Lanny) will truly be missed.
A Summer memorial service is being scheduled in Bakersfield, VT at United Church of Bakersfield 2 July 2018 at 2:30 PM.
Flowers are welcomed at the Summer service. However, the family requests any memorial contributions given would go to either of the following organizations in memory of Landon R. Graves: Restoration Community Ministries, 10020 N 15th Ave Phoenix AZ 85021 (where daughter Anne Marie & (Reggie) pastor a church in the inner city of Phoenix AZ and/or Cortez Elks Lodge #1789 Charity fund (where he was involved and held membership).
