Pima Community College Digital Arts Faculty member Reinhard Siegmund Pawlicki died on July 18, 2017 attended by loving family and in the care of Casa de la Luz Hospice.

Reinhard fought hard in a short, intense battle against cancer before passing away calmly into the night. We wish his time with us had been longer, and are grateful that he lived his life fully up to the end. He was preceded in death by his father, Siegmund; mother, Dorle; and younger brother, Christoph.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, Reinhard made his way to Tucson as a Fulbright Scholarship student at the University of Arizona. He came for astrophysics and stargazing and decided to stay and make Tucson his home for the spectacular sunsets too.

Always a lifelong learner, Reinhard recently completed his second Master of Education degree from Northern Arizona University in Educational Technology and taught Digital Arts & Game Design at Pima Community College. He was a lover and explorer of nature and of all the mysteries this world and universe hold. We will remember him at the end of every day.

Reinhard is survived by his beloved sons Andrew and Matthew Pawlicki-Sinclair, daughter-in-law Sterre and grandson Elliot Pawlicki-Sinclair; former wife, mother of their sons, and friend Sherry Sinclair; sister and brother-in-law Gabi and Odd Nygard, nieces Julie and Anette Nygard; nieces Celine and Pia Doring; and partner in love Maria Vanegas.

A memorial celebration of his life for family, friends, colleagues and students is planned on Thursday, August 17th at 6:00pm at the Pima Community College West Campus Center for the Arts, 2202 West Anklam Rd. Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 40761, Tucson, AZ 85717. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in Reinhard's memory to the Casa de la Luz Foundation (
