It was my privilege to work with Robin at our Sports Car Club of America races. She was a valued member of our team and her work was always appreciated, she was so good at it and she enjoyed the work and the company. As we did Robin; she was fun and funny and wise and sweet, just so sweet. I loved spending time with her. Robin and John have been two of my favorite people for a long time and that will always be. God's wildest blessings on John, on their family, on everything who grieves. Jennifer Paradis-Hagar

I was blessed to meet Robin after the April 27th tornado here in Tuscaloosa. My daughter and I volunteered to help prep her new room at MLK Elementary and then provided the food for her class graduation that year. My daughter who was 7 at the time fell in love with Ms. Thorn! In the chaos of the aftermath of the tornado she took the time to make my child feel special giving her tasks of helping design stations, plan where things could go in the new classroom and ideas about what might comfort the children when they came back to school the first day. Adding my child into the mix made the task twice as long, of that I am sure. But I think that was the kind of teacher Ms. Thorn was. She made each child feel so very special. My daughter and I still talk about how special she was to us and how grateful and blessed we were for meeting her.
My prayers are with you at this time, for I know she will be missed.

I'll always remember Robin, my friend, advisor, co-worker. She could do anything and I often looked to her as my own motivation to get things done. Katie and Beth, her most beloved daughters, were so blessed to be raised by such a strong and pragmatic woman. And the granddaughters learned so much from Robin about play and imaginative fun. Throughout her life time, God held Robin in his arms. And now she is with Him in death.

Dear Beth & Family,
May the love & peace of our Heavenly Father comfort you in this sad time. I met your Mother only once but was so inspired by her courage in fighting such a terrible disease. Just know that She is now in the arms of Jesus free of all pain, and may this be a comfort to you all. You are all in my prayers as you have been since you first told me. If any of you need me, know that I am here. Kate and Emma I love you.
